Core values
Trinity Episcopal Church identifies the following core values
as central to our congregation--past and present:
- Anglican Worship
To retain our heritage, preserve our "Humble" beginnings and build our future
through a variety of music and services
- Faith
To take outrageous risks in God's name.
- Outreach
To expand the kingdom of Christ to our community, our nation and the world
- Fellowship
To gather in love as God's family to nourish mind, body and spirit
- Mission
To identify the voids, fulfill the needs, pass on the blessings, bringing
people into the family of God
- Welcome
To open our arms and hearts to all God's people, loving one another as Christ
loves us
- Prayer
To participate as a community of faith in active prayer and steadfast belief
in the power of prayer to address the challenges of life
Our present reality
We are no longer a church in decline! We are a new church
with attractive and functional worship and fellowship space. Worship
attendance has grown almost 30% on any given Sunday in only seven months
after our move to our twenty acre site on North Main. In February we
had 18 people in our first Confirmation class in three years. Watershed
Ministry for young adults now meets weekly in the church and children
actively fill Children's Chapel on Sundays. There are lots of new faces
among us!
Phase I of our Master Plan involved bulding and moving
into a new facility at a new location. We believed this was necessary
for our church to survive. Not only have we survived, we are thriving!
The success of our first campaign has provided us with worship space,
multi-purpose space, administration space and a nice nursery.
Our vision
Our goal is to expand to meet our growing church's demands.
Phase II of our Master Plan would ideally include:
- Education and Ministry wing
This includes providing a classroom, ministry room, and meeting room
wing. At approximately 5,000 squre feet, it will be large enough
to meet our needs for education, choir, guild, bridal and meeting
rooms. We will provide four children's and youth education classrooms
which will allow for further growth and ease the limitations we
have now. New choir, guild and bridal rooms will give each of those
ministries a place to call their own. Two large meeting rooms,
that are convertible into classrooms, will provide more expended
space for meetings.
- Parish Hall
This includes building a 7,600 square foot Parish Hall large enough
to seat approsimately 200 people for dinners and large meetings
and/or classes.
- Sound-proofing the Multi-purpose room
This includes adding sound-proofing materials to the upper walls
of the Multi-purpose room. This will fix the noise level and provide
an effective space for smaller classes and meetings.
Our plan
Trinity Episcopal Church is in good fiscal and spiritual
health, and the excellent stewardship of our parish makes possible
a wide range of ministries having local and global impact. Vestry and
clergy are aware that this project presents a major financial challenge
to us. The projects identified above are urgent and deserve
our immediate attention, but we are committed to undertaking only what
we can afford.
To this end, we have retained the services of Cargill Associates,
consultants in Christian stewardship, to assist us in this effort.
Cargill Associates has extensive experience with over 3,700 churches
across the country. They are objective and can be held accountable
for the process employed in this study.
Cargill will be conducting a confidential, parish-wide
survey to determine the financial feasibility and readiness of our
membership to move ahead with Phase II. You are asked to participate
in this survey either by personal interview and mail-in questionnaire
and will be receivingf a report in September on the recommended scope
of the project. Please respond to the invitation to attend an interview
in a timely manner or fill out your questionnaire and return
it to Cargill Associates as soon as possible.
You insight and commitment are vital to our future.
Our mission statement
Trinity - a united Christian community serving all people as Christ commands through prayer, worship, study, and fellowship.
